Cookie Policy

Email Marketing Panamá uses a minimum set of cookies necessary for the technical operation of the site, maintenance of display preferences (light/dark theme) and aggregated and anonymized traffic analytics. EMP does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, nor browser fingerprinting. This policy documents which cookies we use, for what purpose, for how long, and how the user can manage them or revoke consent. In accordance with Law 81 of 2019 on Personal Data Protection and ANTAI guidelines on cookie processing in the Panama scope.

01 · What is

What is a cookie and why is it regulated?

A cookie is a small fragment of information that a website stores in the user browser to remember visit data. Cookies are classified by their purpose (strictly necessary technical, personalization, analytics, advertising) and by their origin (cookies owned by the visited site or third-party cookies belonging to other operators).

The processing of cookies in the Panama scope is governed by Law 81 of 2019 on Personal Data Protection when the cookie enables direct or indirect identification of the data subject. Cookies strictly necessary for the technical operation of the site do not require prior consent; cookies with other purposes require informed user consent before installation, pursuant to the lawfulness principle of article 7 of Law 81.

02 · EMP cookies

Cookies that EMP uses on this site

EMP uses the following reduced set of cookies. The philosophy behind the design is to minimize user-side storage to the strictly operational minimum and not to use cookies for commercial, advertising or tracking purposes.

Name Type Purpose Duration Own/Third-party
emp-theme Necessary Remember the user visual theme preference (light or dark) between visits. Local storage without sending to server. Persistent (until manual cleanup) Own
emp-cookie-consent Necessary Remember the user choice on the cookie banner (accepted, rejected, custom configuration) so it is not shown on every visit. 12 months from acceptance Own

2.1 · Strictly necessary cookies (without prior consent)

Cookies marked as "Necessary" in the table above are indispensable for the technical operation of the site or for remembering user choices about the site operation itself. They do not require prior consent pursuant to article 7.2 of Law 81 (legitimate interest of the operator for the provision of the service requested by the user). These cookies do not collect identifying information of the user beyond the declared purpose.

2.2 · Cookies we do NOT use

EMP does not use any of the following cookie categories, neither own nor third-party:

  • Advertising cookies: the site does not contain advertising and does not send data to advertising networks (Google Ads, Meta Ads, X Ads, LinkedIn Ads, etc.). We do not use advertising tracking pixels.
  • Cross-site tracking cookies: the site does not share user behavior data with other websites. We do not participate in affiliate networks or retargeting programs.
  • Social media cookies: the site does not embed social media widgets that generate cookies ("Like" buttons, Twitter embeds, etc.). Social media links are simple links without tracking.
  • Browser fingerprinting cookies: we do not perform user identification through combination of browser attributes, hardware, configuration or behavior.
  • Heatmap or session recording cookies: we do not use tools like Hotjar, FullStory, Mouseflow or equivalents that record user interactions.
03 · Third-party

Third-party cookies

EMP does not use third-party cookies on the website emailmarketingpanama.com. The only communications with external servers are:

  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com): the site loads the Fraunces, Open Sans and JetBrains Mono typefaces from the Google Fonts CDN. This load generates an HTTP request that drags the user IP address in the Google server log, in accordance with the official Google Fonts documentation. This request does not install cookies in the user browser. It is a static resource load similar to loading an image. Google states that the received data is not used for advertising personalization.
  • Images and resources from the same domain: all images, scripts and style sheets are served from the main domain emailmarketingpanama.com without third parties.
If your internal or regulatory policy prohibits loading Google Fonts (some strict GDPR audits in the European public sector require it): write to ventas@emailmarketingpanama.com with subject [DPO Self-Hosted Fonts]. We have alternative configuration with self-hosted typefaces for corporate clients with specific requirements.
04 · Management

Consent management and revocation

The user can manage cookies in three different ways, in increasing order of technical control:

4.1 · Site cookie banner

On the first visit to the site, the cookie banner presents three options: accept all cookies, reject optional cookies (only the strictly necessary remain), or customize the choice by category. The choice is stored in the cookie emp-cookie-consent for 12 months. After that period, the banner will be shown again to renew consent.

To change the choice before the 12 months expire, the user can manually delete the cookie emp-cookie-consent from the browser settings and reload the site; the banner will be shown again.

4.2 · Browser configuration

Each browser provides access to cookie management from its own settings. Links to the official instructions for each browser:

Full blocking of cookies may affect site functionality. Specifically, blocking the cookie emp-theme prevents remembering the visual theme preference between visits; blocking the cookie emp-cookie-consent makes the cookie banner appear on every visit.

4.3 · Private browsing mode

Private browsing modes (Incognito in Chrome, Private in Firefox/Safari, InPrivate in Edge) create an ephemeral session without cookie persistence between sessions. The site cookies are created during the private session and are automatically deleted when the window closes. It is the strictest option for users who prefer not to leave traces between visits.

05 · Updates

Updates to this policy

This Cookie Policy may be updated when EMP modifies the cookies used, incorporates third-party technologies or adjusts the consent banner configuration. Modifications affecting consent previously given by the user cause the banner to be shown again to renew consent over the new configuration. The date of last update appears at the start of the document.

For queries about this cookie policy, write to ventas@emailmarketingpanama.com with subject [DPO Cookies]. Response in 10 calendar days.
